Woodhead Studios

Woodhead Studios is a high quality Music and Voice Recording Studio based in the beautiful Glasshouse Mountains that has been operating since 1995. Run by local Sound Engineer Angus Woodhead, prices start from a very reasonable $50 per hour but vary depending on your requirements. Angus recently won an International Mix Competition and it is not uncommon for him to have mixing and mastering clients from all over the world 'on the go' at any one time.

Recording

For full band recordings we now use an assortment of high-end studios around South-East Queensland to deliver our clients a world-class sound. Whether you want to use the Industry Standard Pro Tools platform or others like Reason, Cubase or Samplitude, we will deliver to you the sound you are chasing. We are able to record all instruments and vocals at our Beerwah facility except Drums.

Mixing

There are a number of mixing solutions available using various South East Queensland Studios but our Beerwah facility is the most budget conscious using state of the art Universal Audio UAD Plug-ins, summed through my Vintage Analog Console with a Lexicon PCM91 for main reverb and some good outboard EQ and Compression. Other Mixdown options can be arranged in studios with API, SSL or Neve Consoles depending on your budget and requirements.

Mastering

I also offer a great Music Mastering solution mastering "In The Box" at my facility in Beerwah. Samplitude is my platform of choice with a huge selection of world-class mastering plug-ins. Priced at just $80 per hour and monitoring on JLM Audio BAM-1's you can be assured of a very high quality result. Most albums can be mastered for around $500 Inc all fees and charges. (EP's around $350)

About Angus Woodhead

Angus is an extremely accomplished vocalist, musician and engineer. He spent the first 6 months of 2007 touring Internationally with the Bee Gees – Night Fever and before that he toured Australia with the Eagles Experience and many other bands. He is currently the MD of Montserrat (a 12 piece Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show), the keyboard player for Angold (Rock originals band) and The Greg Atherton Band and performs locally Solo and Duo. A much awarded vocalist with over 20 years experience he has performed in a wide range of venues from small rooms to large 3000 seat Theatre’s and Auditoriums. Over the last 15 years Angus has been doing freelance Live Sound Engineering and running 'Woodhead Studios'. He is also an acknowledged Record Producer and has 'Produced' over 100 Albums for Artists from all Genre's and styles of music.
