Gearing Up For Xmas Cuppies

With a distinct Father Christmas appearance of a white beard plus 40 grand-children and great-grand-children, its no wonder Carl Neve of Beerwah has chosen cubby houses as his final vocation in life.

Builders Carl and brother Dennis, ably assisted by Carl’s daughter Mrs Cindy Michels (administration) run Glasshouse Country Enterprises at the corner of Steve Irwin Way and Back Creek Road, where they have been busy constructing cubby houses and related items for many years.

The Neves have always been close to timber as contractors . Their father was responsible for the layout of district pine plantations and fire towers in the area, a long-time legacy for the future.

The family geared up for Christmas with a number of cubby houses on lay-by for the festive season. There is also steady demand for a number of other timber and steel-roofed items including dog kennels, cat houses, free-range chicken coups, ornamental foot bridges, aviaries and bird boxes and cocktail bars.

The cubbies normally measure 3m by 2.4m - there are no council permits required for buildings less than 3m by 3m. However customers who order cabins for their back yard as an extra room, such as a studio, which are more than 3m in size, must have a permit.

The firm’s quality cubby houses are made from cypress, western red cedar and LOSP-treated timber plus steel roofs in a choice of colours.
